Glossary · Term
A consent-capture service that records the interaction where a consumer submitted a lead, producing a verifiable certificate.
Definition
TrustedForm certificates are the standard evidence a network provides to prove that a specific consumer, at a specific time, submitted a specific form and consented to specific terms. Buyers increasingly require the certificate URL as a condition of payment; regulators may require it as evidence of compliant collection.
Why it matters
Missing or expired certificates cause buyers to reject leads for compliance reasons — a rejection reason that compounds because it typically means the entire source is at risk, not just the individual lead. Certificate handling has to be automated end-to-end or leads fail silently.
How it fails in practice
Certificate URLs are captured but never verified, and a source that stopped generating valid certificates continues sending traffic that all rejects downstream. Or certificates expire before the buyer retrieves them, invalidating the audit trail after the payout has already run.
